d'Arenberg DArrys Original 1998
The terrific, deep ruby/purple-colored 1998 d'Arry's Original Shiraz/Grenache (47% Shiraz and 53% Grenache) offers a gorgeous perfume of jammy black fruits intermixed with earth, charcoal, and leather. Spicy, meaty, fleshy, and full-bodied, this palate-staining 1998 should drink well for a decade. This is a terrific bargain.

d'Arenberg The High Trellis 1998
The 1998 The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon is a thick, dense, muscular wine with a broodingly backward personality. The wine displays a big, sweet, cassis nose, medium to full body, and excellent depth as well as chewiness.

d'Arenberg Custodian Grenache 1998
Impressive is the exceptional 1998 The Custodian Grenache. A large-scaled effort with layers and body as well as gobs of black cherry fruit, pepper, and spice, this lusty, multidimensional, impressive 1998 should be consumed over the next 7-10 years.

d'Arenberg Twenty Eight Rd 1998
.. reminiscent of a French Bandol (the charming Mediterranean coastal town famous for long-lived Mourvedre-based wines). The wine possesses considerable tannin levels, earthy, peppery, black cherry and currant notes, and dusty, rustic finishes. It is not for everybody, but it is authentic and well-made.

d'Arenberg Vintage Fortified Shiraz 1998
Very Limited Allocation
First made in the 1920s, d'Arenberg's flagship fortified red is sweet, rich and concentrated with fleshy, red and black fruits, Christmas cake spice and hints of dark chocolate. With significant bottle age, dArenbergs Vintage Fortified Shiraz gains extraordinary complexity. The intense young colour become a lighter more ruby red initially then quite amber. Fruit and brandy spirit integrate making way for chocolate, coffee, walnut even hints of liquorice and anise smells. Epic - and extremely ageworthy.
