Wayne Thomas Shiraz 2004 12x75cl Wayne Thomas Shiraz 2004 12x75cl

This is a fabulous wine from McLaren Vale legend Wayne Thomas.

It is a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz, made in traditional style. It shows great depth of colour and well integrated fruit / oak flavours.

This wine won a Gold Medal at last years McLaren Vale wine show. If you like Aussie Shiraz, you have to try this - it is the kind of wine that really drives my passion for Australian wine.

'Perhaps just a slightly deeper colour here, a deep, purple, concentrated appearance, extending right out to the rim. The nose offers some bramble fruit, presented in a brooding and yet paradoxically vibrant style, with notes of white chocolate and black pepper. Creamy presence on the palate, nicely balance, showing rich fruit again with a welcome presence of acidity. This is impressive, firmly put together, yet supple and seductive. The tannins are succulent and super-ripe, providing a little backbone but otherwise they act quite subtly. Finishes well, with some length. Very good indeed. 17.5/20 ' - Chris Kissack - www.thewinedoctor.com

Wayne Thomas Petit Verdot 04 12x75cl Wayne Thomas Petit Verdot 04 12x75cl

The 2003 vintage Petit Verdot was very impressive, the 2004 even more so and loaded with both grunt and ‘wow’ factors. Spectacular colour with paint like glass cling.

Total black purple saturation of colour. Wonderful lifted nose of spice, violets, ripe plum, followed by notes of black pepper, cedar and liquorice. The palate explodes, there is plenty of everything, and whats more, all in balance. Flavours of spice, black pepper and white pepper explode with flavours of liquorice, blood plum and blackcurrant over cedar and vanilla. Fine dry tannins, perfect balance, with very long peppery plum aftertaste. Rating: 98/100

Wayne Thomas Cabernet 04 12x75cl Wayne Thomas Cabernet 04 12x75cl

Another fantastic wine from Wayne Thomas. This wine sticks to Wayne's tried, tested and medal winning formula of making big, bold reds that are also smooth and elegant.

This is a fabulous example of Cabernet from McLaren Vale. The wine has just arrived, and there isn't much of it, so make sure you snap some up before its all gone.

'A dark, vibrant, purple hue, with a shocking pink rim. A seductive fruit-driven nose, full of blackcurrant juice with fresh orange and strawberry notes, with little pepper nuances. Toasty, dark caramel traces as well. Very fresh entry, obviously fairly rich and quite succulent, but with fine acidity as well. In fact this is very well presented on the palate, with a ripe, supple character balanced by the acidic structure, and the whole package maintains a suitably elegant detachment. Some dark fruit persistence as well. Very good indeed. It should show well for several years, but is just fine for current drinking. 17/20 ' - Chris Kissack www.thewinedoctor.com

Wayne Thomas Dry Riesling 2004 12x75cl Wayne Thomas Dry Riesling 2004 12x75cl

A lovely straw yellow tinged with green, this impressive Riesling has a bouquet of tropical and limey citrus aromas and classic Riesling varietal characters.

This is a fresh wine with a bright floral nose and a long clean palate.

Wayne Thomas Elevenses (methode champenoise) 2004 12x75cl Wayne Thomas Elevenses (methode champenoise) 2004 12x75cl

We are currently out of stock of this wine - but are expecting another shipment.

This is a wonderful sparkling wine, made from 100% chardonnay grapes.

The wine is made in honour or Wayne Thomas' late wife Pat, who always used to have a glass of bubbly at 11 am every day, hence the name 'Elevenses'.

I can heartily recommend a glass of this at that time (unless you are at work!), but it is equally delicious no matter when you decide to drink it.

This is a perfect party wine, offering you a wonderful, refreshing mouthful at a fraction of the price of Champagne.
