Wine Buy The Case > Australia > The Lane

Conceived in France and created in the Adelaide Hills, The Lane wines are neither European or Australian in style, rather the best of both worlds. These wines have the structure and finesse of Europe's best, complimented by intense fine fruit flavours and spice, a product of Australian sunlight and the terroir of The Lane.

The Lane is about style. An evolutionary new style. Slippery & sensuous. Has a synergy with food. Delivers in the mouth. Powerful but fine. Occasion wine. Unique.

Matthew Jukes Wine of the week

"2004 The Lane, Beginning Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
Having visited The Lane, it is clear to me that this is one of the great 'Estates' of Australia. All of the wines from these manicured, undulating vineyards have a singularity and precision about their flavour. In short, they have an address.
This wine, in the words of the owner and mind behind this exceptional and visionary outfit, John Edwards, is not vinonymous, as so many wines are these days. In a world of cross-regional blends, The Lane turns the idea on its head and gives you an expression of just several rows of vines, which brings a new specificity and integrity to the whole experience.
There are six wines in the line up and they are all stunning. Beginning is a delicately chiseled Chardonnay with a core of steely freshness and a never ending finish. It makes most white Burgundy look loose knit and wooly.
The wines of The Lane are all bloody good and as rare as it gets. You really ought to make your acquaintance with this address-it's one you can't help but keep coming back to."

A winner of the International Wine & Spirit Competition's Communicator of the Year Trophy,
