On Friday 11 August 2006, at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show, Shingleback Wine was awarded the Australian Wine Industry's most prestigious and sought after prize, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy. Awarded annually to the producer of the best one-year-old red wine, the 2005 Shingleback D Block Cabernet Sauvignon triumphed over 850 entries encompassing all red wine varieties including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Shingleback also swept the boards at International Wine and Spirit Competion 2006 in London! Shingleback wines scooped 6 medals including one GOLD and five SILVERS.
