Rex Goliath wines showcase the supple, fruit-driven style of California’s coastal vineyards. Untamed hillside landscapes, oceanic microclimates and sandy soils intermingle to create one of California’s most unique and dynamic wine appellations, the Central Coast. These conditions result in a growing season that lasts up to two months longer than in warmer grape growing regions of California. This longer time on the vine results in greatly intensified varietal flavor, depth and structure and thus, exceptional wines. 	Rex Goliath Pinot Grigio 6x75cl This wine expresses lovely aromatics of pear and honeydew. Bright, juicy flavors of citrus and apples that lead to a sweet mineral core. The finish is soft and lingering; thanks to a balanced acidity that carries the fruit well into the back of the palate. Yum. I can think of a number of foods that would be great with this wine. Try it with a bowl full of Little-necked clams, steamed in a broth of Pinot Grigio, garlic, onions, and butter (my personal favorite!), Linguini with homemade pesto (OK, my other fave), or baked boneless-skinless chicken breasts that have first been rubbed in a lemon zest/Herbs de Provence mixture and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. 	Rex Goliath Chardonnay 6x75cl Wow. A rich, ripe, and tropical California chardonnay! Pretty toasted oak wrapped around layers of pineapple, pear, and citrus. Lengthy, round, and creamy aftertaste that lingers well into the next sip. A solid core of acidity and a seamless wine from start to finish. Great as a companion to a dinner of salmon or a rich pasta like Fettuccini Alfredo. I actually enjoyed a glass of this wine while preparing a saffron risotto the night that I wrote these notes . The tragedy was that I had to use a half cup of this wine in the recipe (I didn't have a cheap white wine on hand). 	Rex Goliath Pinot Noir 6x75cl The aromas are characteristic of the cool Central coast vineyards that yielded the majority of the grapes for this wine. Red berry perfume with a touch of cinnamon spice, wrapped in a blanket of subtle French oak. Breathe it in. This is one of Pinot Noir's great pleasures. The taste is pure Pinot, too. Mouth-filling overripe raspberry and cherry flavors. Soft and supple are a few of the descriptors I would use. The wine exhibits a velvet finish due to the soft tannins and understated acidity. 	Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon 6x75cl This is a hearty Cabernet Sauvignon with structure and concentration. Dark and intense in color. Hints of cedar and oak, with layers of raspberry, plum, mocha, and currant. Firm tannins with big fruit flavors lead to a lengthy and persistent finish. It's a great wine to take to dinners with family and friends. We probably don't need to say that a wine like this will work best with a hearty red meat dish, but we will any way. 	Rex Goliath Merlot 6x75cl We really love this wine. Soft, supple, and complex. There is a certain elegance to this wine that fits our vision of the perfect Merlot: Pretty and seductive with a decidedly spicy nose of black cherry, cassis and cedar. Very ripe and round, almost like a Jolly Rancher candy. Mouth-filling flavors of plums, cherries and wild red berries dominate from start to finish. Good seam of acidity paired with soft tannins make this a wonderful wine for game fowl such as pheasant or duck. 	Rex Goliath Shiraz 6x75cl Aromas of ripe raspberries and black pepper underscored by floral perfumed notes and pretty French oak. Lush flavors of jammy red fruit and plum supported on a platform of soft tannins. Good cool climate acidity suspends the flavors for a lengthy and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Shiraz is an extremely versatile food wine and will pair with a wide range of dishes.
