Bruno Rocca
The Rocca family originates from Barbaresco. Bruno Rocca took charge of the family business when his father died in 1978, and decided that all the wine produced by the estate would from then on be sold in bottle. Bruno now has 12 hectares of vineyards, of which 5 are planted in the prestigious Rabaja cru.
Since taking over the estate Rocca has risen to the top of the quality tree in Barbaresco. Stylistically he is a consummate modernist, yet the great intensity of fruit is balanced by a ty8pcal Piemontese structure, and the character of the varietal is balanced by a judicious use of oak.

Bruno Rocca Barbaresco 2002 6x75cl
Ripe cherry and raspberry fruit flavours with hints of sweet vanilla oak. The tannins are supple and silky. The wine is long and beautifully balanced.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks and lasted 7 days. 80% of the wine was then transferred into new French oak barrels (Allier, medium toast), and the remaining 20% was placed in 20 hl oak casks. The wine was matured in barrel and cask for 18 months and then spent 12 months in bottle before release.
